The TWS Locking Radar (Track While Scan) is a medium range detection radar, with a built-in target tracking radar. It is capable of locking targets, and will continue to scan while tracking any target is has locked.

Targets detected by the TWS Locking Radar will be warned by an S in their Radar Warning Receiver.

Potential Uses In-Game[]

Part of an autonomous defense network:

It is not inconceivable that this module be used along with the Patriot Missile Launcher, Goalkeeper CIWS, Jernas Missile Turret, Oerlikon Millennium Cannon, USAF Airborne Laser, along with the Radar Data Receiver and even custom built S.A.M. sites if desired to create an autonomous, integrated, and extremely effective defense network. The following is how this may play out:

Front Line Defense Ring: Position a generous amount of TWS Locking Radar installations, mounted on custom built ground vehicles in a ring of a desired diameter around the area you are trying to protect, to act as the early warning system. Data Link these to localized Radar Data Receiver installations preferably on the same vehicle(s).

Second Line Defense: Position several combinations of Patriot Missile Launcher and Oerlikon Millennium Cannon installations a short distance behind each TWS installation to act as the first line of active defense. The two weapons will work in tandem to protect the desired area from all available threats after being data linked to the Radar Data Receiver installations.

Third Line Defense: Position several combination USAF Airborne Laser and Goalkeeper CIWS installations a short distance behind the combination Patriot Missile Launcher and Oerlikon Millennium Cannon installations, these will act as a second line of defense with much the same use as the first line of active defense when data linked to the Radar Data Receiver installations

Fourth Line Defense: Position several Jernas Missile Turret installations the closest to the area being protected. These will act as a final line of active defense when data linked to the Radar Data Receiver installations
