The AWACS Detection Radar is a large, airborne detection radar, capable of detecting targets from a long distance. It is not capable of tracking or locking targets for the benefit of weapon systems.

Whenever the AWACS Detection Radar registers a target, it will show up as a A on the Radar Warning Receiver of the detected craft.
